How to Prepare for NEET pg medical / PG common entrance test – CET

Hello guys

First Lets see what all information we have ragarding NEET pg medical / PG common entrance test – CET.

Subject wise allocation of marks:

• In PG entrance examination, distribution of marks would be as per relevance of the subjects, with
clinical subjects carrying more weight age than pre and paraclinical subjects.

Type of Paper/Questions:

• The PG and DM/MCh entrance examination papers would have multiple types of MCQs, namely
single response (Section A - 60%), multiple T/F, images, assertion/reasoning questions and patient
management questions (Section B - 40%).

Now there we get two points :

  • More importance to Clinical Questions
  • 40 % USMLE style questions
In case of PG and DM/ MCh entrance , there will be a single paper of 180 questions of 3 hours
duration.

Now they say there is 3 hours to answer 180 questions. Thats a hell lot of time than previous times !
So that means
  • Each question will involve lot of reading and problem solving. Expect images, equations, acid base balances, graphs and what not !
  • But unless its an online exam, its tough to print a proper colour image.
  • Expect ECGs, Graphs (like respiratory volumes ) though.
How to prepare :
  • Stay focused, don t haphazardly
  • At least for next year, you have to be thorough with Ashish gupta and Mudit khanna
  • If you are short of time, study at least the latest volumes
  • Dont blindly believe in what coaching centers say, to be honest nobody knows whats the pattern. Beware of psuedo gurus
  • There is high chance that many aspirants will end up reading lot of books like usmle, pretests books etc, but in a non complete and non thorough way . And that can be really dangerous
  • If you are reading something, read thorough
  • As of now, you priorities should be AG and MK, whatever it be.
More coming soon..
